Attendant Language Selection allows you to select the language of operation for the attendant console. After selecting a new language, you must then interact with the console using that language. For example, if you switch from French to English, you must then follow French-language prompts.
If you have multiple IP consoles, you can program each console with its own language of operation.
The default language for the 5540 IP Console can be defined during the installation and can be modified after the installation.
Unless the attendant subsequently selects another language, the newly selected language remains the default language if the console is reset and when there is a system Back-up.
The IP Console application is available in English (the default), French (Canadian), French (European), Spanish (LA), Spanish (European), German, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese (Brazilian), Portuguese (European), Swedish, and Simplified Chinese.
The 5540 IP Console is available in English, French (Canadian), French (European), Italian, German, Spanish (European), Spanish (LA), Dutch, Portuguese (Brazil) and Portuguese (European).
Program messages in each language. Status messages may be programmed in three of the following languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese. Ensure that the messages align; for example, if English status message #1 is "In A Meeting", then the corresponding French status message #1 must be the French language equivalent.
NOTE: The Console Softkeys and Multiline Set Keys forms incorporate a read-only field ("Language") showing the language currently selected at each 5540 IP Console. No special language programming is required on these forms.
Use the LANGUAGE ADD or LANGUAGE SELECT maintenance commands to designate the default and auxiliary languages for the 5540 IP Console.
All consoles
To change the display language:
Press Function
Press Att Function.
Press Language.
Press the softkey for the desired language.
To change the console language:
Select Options on the Tools menu.
Select Application Settings.
Select the language you require from the drop-down menu.
Click Apply
or OK.
The change takes effect when you restart the console.
